Why Does My Mac Always Open Microsoft Suite When Restarted

-->
  1. Open Microsoft Word

Introduction

  • 2020-4-4  One of the many small changes in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is that the operating system can now automatically reopen programs that were running before shutdown or restart. If you shut down Windows 10 with some apps (e.g., Chrome browser, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word) open, some of them are relaunched at next startup, which is undesirable; to put it fairly, it can be annoying for many.
  • 2019-11-18  Why I always recommend Macs over PCs — even though they're usually a lot more expensive. I'd like to explain why the Mac is a worthwhile investment. Microsoft has minimum system.

This article describes how to troubleshoot the following kinds of issues in Microsoft Outlook when it's used together with Office 365:

Jul 14, 2011 Why does my IMAC randomly restart itself, over and over again? It began when i was trying to update an iPhone 3, during the update the IMAC started turning itself on and off rapidly. I disconnected and removed download. Ever since t has continued to randomly unexpectedly restart itself.

  • Outlook stops responding (hangs).
  • Outlook crashes even though you aren't actively using it.
  • Outlook crashes when you start it.

Procedure

To help troubleshoot Outlook issues in an Office 365 environment, follow these steps.

Step 1: Investigate possible issues caused by add-ins

  1. Exit Outlook.

  2. Open a Run dialog box. To do this, use one of the following procedures, as appropriate to your version of Windows:

    • If you're running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, or Windows 8, press the Windows logo key+R.
    • If you're running Windows 7, click Start, type Run in the Search box, and then click Run.
  3. Type Outlook /safe, and then click OK.

  4. If the issue is fixed, click Options on the File menu, and then click Add-Ins.

  5. Select COM Add-ins, and then click Go.

  6. Click to clear all the check boxes in the list, and then click OK.

  7. Restart Outlook. If the issue doesn't occur, start adding the add-ins one at a time until the issue occurs.

Step 2: Repair Office

  1. Open Control Panel, and then click Uninstall a program.
  2. In the list of installed programs, right-click the entry for your Office installation, and then click Change, and then click Online Repair.

Step 3: Run Outlook Diagnostics

  1. Run the Outlook won't start automated diagnostics to fix the issues.

    Note

Click Run when you're prompted by your browser.

  2. If the tool doesn't resolve the issue, go to Windows or Look to start **Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365 **(SaRA).

  3. On the first screen, select Outlook, and then select Next.

  4. Select any of the following options, as appropriate, and then select Next:

    • Outlook keeps hanging or freezing
    • Outlook keeps crashing with a message 'Microsoft Outlook has stopped working.'

SaRA runs some diagnostic checks, and returns possible solutions for you to use to try to fix Outlook connectivity issues.

Step 4: Create a new Outlook profile

Note

If you ran SaRA in Step 3, and you created a new profile, you can skip all of Step 4.

  1. Open Control Panel, and then click Mail.

  2. Click Show Profiles.

  3. Select the profile that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

    Important

Removing the profile also removes associated data files. If you're not sure whether the data files are backed up or stored on a server, do not remove the profile. Instead, go to step 4.

Microsoft office 2008 mac upgrade. Click Download, or click the link for the language version that you want. Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk. Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

  4. Click Add.

  5. In the Profile Name box, type a name for the new profile.

  6. Specify the user name, the primary SMTP address, and the password. Then, click Next.

  7. You may receive the following message: Allow this website to configure **alias@domain** server settings? In this message, click to select the Don't ask me about this website again check box, and then click Allow.

  8. When you're prompted, enter your logon credentials, and then click OK.

  9. When Setup is finished, click Finish.

Step 5: Run SaRA Advanced Diagnostics before you contact Support

This step creates detailed information about your Outlook configuration and provides solutions for any known issues that are detected. It also gives you the option to upload your results to Microsoft so that a Support engineer can review them before you make a Support call.

  1. Click Outlook Advanced Diagnostics.
  2. Click Run when you are prompted by your browser.

Many factors can prevent a PDF from opening in your browser or on your computer using Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC. Try the suggestions below to troubleshoot the problems.

Note that you cannot repair a damaged PDF itself. However, if you have the source file, you can re-create the PDF using an Adobe product, such as Acrobat or Photoshop Elements.

Most modern web browsers can easily open PDFs. If you’re having trouble opening a specific PDF on a web page, try the suggestion below.

  1. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac OS) the link to the PDF file.

  2. Choose the appropriate save or download option for your browser:

    • (Google Chrome) Save Link As
    • (Internet Explorer) Save Target As
    • (Firefox) Save Link As
    • (Safari) Download Linked File
  3. Make sure Adobe Acrobat Document is selected for the file type, and save the file.

    Note:

If you don't see a Save As dialog box, your browser may have downloaded the file automatically, possibly in a separate downloads window.

  4. Locate the saved PDF, and double-click the file to open it. If your browser opened a downloads window, double-click the PDF in the downloads list.

If you can't open a PDF on your computer, try the suggestions below in the order they appear.

If you have Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC installed on your computer, skip to the next step.

Acrobat Reader DC is the only free PDF viewer that can open and interact with all types of PDF content – including forms and multimedia.

  • Go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader download page, and then click Install Now. For step-by-step instructions, see Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for Windows or Mac OS.

After the installation is complete, follow the steps in the next section.

Your system may not be set up to automatically open PDFs from the desktop with Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Right-click the PDF, choose Open With > Choose default program (or Choose another app in Windows 10).

  2. Choose Adobe Acrobat Reader DC or Adobe Acrobat DC in the list of programs, and then do one of the following:

    • (Windows 7 and earlier) Select Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.
    • (Windows 8) Select Use this app for all .pdf files.
    • (Windows 10) Select Always use this app to open .pdf files.

    Note:

If you have both Adobe Acrobat DC and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC installed on your computer, choose Adobe Acrobat DC.

  1. Click the PDF file's icon in the Finder to select it.

  2. Click the triangle next to Open With, and choose Adobe Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat from the pop-up list (if your preference is not on the list, choose Other to select it).

Adobe releases regular security updates for Acrobat Reader DC and Acrobat DC. Installing the latest updates might solve the issue.

  1. If the Updater dialog box appears, click Yes. The update will automatically install.

Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC—or the resources they depend upon—could be damaged. Try repairing the product using the step below.

  1. Run repair from within Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC: Choose Help > Repair Installation.
